ROONEY PRAISES GREGORY FOR NOTTINGHAM IMPACT

Derby County boss Wayne Rooney has praised Lee Gregory for his impact on the English Championship game at the weekend. Wayne Rooney was full of praise for the Stoke City loaneeafter his performance as a second half substitute during the league game at home to Nottingham Forest. Wayne Rooney and his Derby County players were able to secure a point at home to Nottingham Forest to edge further to safety as far as the English Championship is concerned this season. Derby County had trailed 1-0 for the major part of the game before Colin Kazim-Richards scored the equaliser six minutes from time. Nottingham Forest were the visitors and they took the lead through Manchester United loanee James Garner. Red Devils midfielder James Garner is on loan at Nottingham Forest from Manchester United. He scored the first goal of the game on 33 minutes but his team could not hold on to that advantage.

Wayne Rooney was impressed with the second half impact of Lee Gregory as pointed out by the Manchester United legend during his post-match press conference.  He told RamsTV that Lee Gregory lifted the team with his energy when he came on for Scottish player Graeme Shinnie in the second half. He came on for Shinnieto prompt the Rams to a priceless point at home to Nottingham Forest. 32-year-old Lee Gregory signed for Derby County on loan from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and he has played six times for his new teams since then. He is pushing for a start ahead of the trip to face in-form Cardiff City  on Tuesday. Lee Gregory has had to wait for his turn at Derby County due to the form of Colin Kazim-Richards.

Derby County manager Wayne Rooney has impressed in his first managerial job and he has been able to take the club out of the relegation zone. The point at home to Nottingham Forest took the Rams nine points clear of Rotherham United in the third and final relegation spot.
