Wayne Rooney says every player would love playing for Jurgen Klopp

DC United forward Wayne Rooney has said that every player would love playing under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp. The German has earned the reputation of playing free-flowing attacking football wherever he has coached and most recently, he guided Liverpool to the Champions League title, which ended their seven-year wait for a trophy.

Speaking to SportBild, Rooney heaped praised on the qualities of the Reds head coach and believes the German has his best years ahead of him, he said:”Jurgen is a manager every player would love playing for. You can see how much fun his players have playing under him. I met him once, he is an amazing guy. His only mistake is that he works for LFC and is successful there. I have much respect for Jurgen Klopp and for what he already has achieved. Not only in Liverpool, but also in Dortmund. This guy really has it. And he has his best years still upon him.”

Klopp was criticised for the lack of trophies at Liverpool between 2015 and 2018 where they reached three competition finals without crossing the final hurdle. However, he managed to overcome the stumbling block during the previous campaign whereby he helped the Reds ended their trophy drought with a sixth European title.

Meanwhile, the Reds just missed out on the Premier League crown by the single point to Manchester City and that should provide the players with further encouragement that they can make the push for the title next term. Liverpool have remained quiet during the ongoing transfer window and so far, they have landed just one signing in the form of teenage defender Sepp van den Burg.

The same suggests that Klopp is comfortable with the options at hand but the fans will still be hoping for further additions such that they can get the edge over the Premier League champions. The Merseyside giants start their top-flight campaign with a home game against newly-promoted Norwich City.
