Derby County manager Wayne Rooney were left to rue what might have been after failing to return to winning ways when they hosted bottom team Nottingham Forest in an English Championship encounter played on Saturday. Wayne Rooney and his players were forced to a 1-1 draw thus taking their run of games without a victory to three in all competitions.

The Rooney-led Derby team took the lead inside the first eleven (11) minutes and it was preserved until the final quarter of the game before Nottingham Forest struck their equaliser to take their first point of the season in the Championship. Wayne Rooney and his wards took the lead through Tom Lawrence and they were on the way to an important victory before Welsh winger Brennan Johnson scored for the away team with eight minutes left on the clock to ensure that both sides shared the points.

Derby County are now winless in two league games and three games in all competitions with the home draw with former European champions Nottingham Forest.

The Rams have not tasted victory since the 1-0 win at the home of newly promoted Championship club Hull City. The Tigers were promoted to the second tier at the end of last season after winning the League One title. Sam Baldock scored the only goal of the game with twelve (12) second half minutes on the clock. The victory over Hull City remains the only league sucesss for Wayne Rooney at Derby County this season after four rounds of games.

Since the win over Hull City, the Rams have drawn with Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest in addition to being eliminated from the League Cup by Sheffield United at the second round stage. The 2-1 loss at the home of the Blades was sandwiched between the goalless draw with visitors Boro and the score draw with hosts Nottingham Forest.
